What will your legacy be?
Would you consider giving a child the gift of a future? Will you make that your legacy?
You could do that easily by remembering Values Academy in your Will.
Your legacy will help to build a future free from poverty, criminality, drug abuse and violence. You will be helping vulnerable and disadvantaged youngsters build a life, rather than an existence, in some of the most deprived areas in the Midlands. You’ll be breaking the cycle of poverty and crime these young people are trapped in.
Youngsters like Vivian, labelled “violent and disruptive” before she came to Values Academy and now studying Fine Art at University. Your legacy will help young people just like her to build a future to be proud of.
Leaving us a gift in your Will means you’re caring for future generations, not just today’s troubled youngsters.
It could mean the difference between living life and struggling to young people, for years to come.
If you’ve seen first-hand the damage and misery caused by social exclusion, we hope you understand the power of your gift.
Why leave a gift in your Will to Values Academy?
Can you afford to leave a gift?
We need to make sure we have enough income to help as many young people as possible in the West Midlands. And one day, we’d like to help more young people around the UK. Your legacy gift will help us to build more schools and make a wider difference.
Legacy gifts are the most important part of our income. We receive no Government funding, so your gift will be vital to keep our schools going.
A legacy gift is always about the future, given by someone with a vision of a better world who wants to achieve something they believe in.
A world in which no child is left behind or excluded from the society we take for granted.
Your legacy will help more children from broken families. Children who, through an accident of birth, have not had the same chance of a normal education that most of us had.
If you’d like to help us, but don’t feel able to right now, a legacy gift could be the right solution.
You must make sure you provide for your family and loved ones first. But it doesn’t cost much to make a huge difference to someone’s life – and maybe their children’s lives too.
There’s another type of gift, called a residuary gift, which means you only give a percentage of your estate – after you’ve taken care of your family and loved ones.
What if you’ve already made your Will?
If you’ve already made a Will, it’s easy to make a minor change. You can simply add a signed, witnessed document called a codicil. This should be cheaper than making a new Will.
The witnesses you choose don’t have to be the same ones who witnessed the original Will signing.
And there are no limits to the number of codicils you can add to your Will.
Inheritance Tax (IHT)
Inheritance Tax does not apply to gifts in Wills.
If you leave a legacy to Values Academy in your Will, you may reduce the amount of tax your family pays on your estate after your death.
